In January 22nd 2018, TMMOB Executive Committee made a press release on operation has started towards Afrin.
WHAT WE NEED IS PEACE IN OUR COUNTRY, IN THE REGION AND IN THE WORLD!
As wrong policies have continued from the beginning of 2011 that civil war has started in Syria we have been getting stuck in swamp of war every day more and more. Operation started towards Afrin has dragged our country into an unpredictable chaos.
Any war driven within the line of guidance and interests of imperialist powers will bring nothing than death, pain and tear. Our country should stay out of dangerous traps of fight of strength between the USA and Russia.
Unfortunately, in our country, as a result of this operation, nationalism and hostility have been commoved; opponents have been tried to be excluded from internal and international politics. Even main opposition party, which has supported Afrin operation, to be criticized burningly displays that polarizing policies elaborated for years have continued.
What Middle East and Syria need is ensuring peace by quieting guns, not escalating violence. Turkey should be part of peace in Middle East and Syria not part of war.
Olive branch, in these territories, has symbolized peace for thousands of years. Don’t let blood to dip onto olive branch…
What we need urgently is peace in our country, in the region and in the world.
